Joel
Joel has 3 chapters. Read Joel in the Douay-Rheims 1899, chapter by chapter, free and without an account.
Joel begins with a devastating loss of crops and calls the community to lament and gather before God. The approaching day of the LORD intensifies the appeal to return wholeheartedly. Promises of restored harvests and an outpouring of the Spirit follow, together with judgment on the nations and a vision of security for Judah and Jerusalem.
In Christian Bibles, Joel is one of the twelve Minor Prophets of the Old Testament. In the Jewish Tanakh it belongs to the Nevi’im, the Prophets, as part of the Twelve. See it on the shelf.

Joel 1: a devastating locust plague and drought strip Judah's land, calling priests, elders, and all the people to fasting and lament.

Joel 2: the day of the Lord prompts wholehearted repentance, followed by mercy, restored harvests, the Spirit, and promised deliverance.

Joel 3: the nations gather for judgment while the Lord shelters Zion and a sanctuary spring renews Judah's secure land.
