Why I Built This
Growing up, I was given a Bible verse to memorize every week. I was lucky to have my own take-home copy, where I highlighted the passage, bookmarked it, and read it over and over until it finally stuck. Back then, that was the only way I knew.
Today, there is a whole body of research showing what actually works for memorization and what doesn't. When my kids started school and began reading the Bible and memorizing verses of their own, I wanted a more fun and engaging way for them to learn. After sharing the tools I built with friends, I realized it could help their families, too. That is why I created BibleVerse. I hope you enjoy it and find it as helpful for your family as it has been for mine.
Who This Is For
While BibleVerse began as a tool for my own family, it is designed for anyone interested in learning about the Bible and God's word. My hope is that it serves as an informative resource for people of all backgrounds, helping them find the scriptures that speak to them in their own language, while also offering a way to learn about the faith traditions of others.
Building this platform has been a deeply educational journey for me. It has given me a profound new respect for the diverse denominations within Christianity and inspired a quest to better understand the historical and spiritual roots of my own faith. My wife grew up in a Jewish household, which originally guided me toward seeing the beautiful similarities and deeply respecting the differences between our faith backgrounds.
Admittedly, taking the step to actively study other religions initially felt a little scary, and perhaps even a bit taboo. But I discovered that taking the time to learn about others only gave me a deeper respect for their points of view. Interestingly, rather than pulling me away from my roots, this exploration actually reinforced my own beliefs, while still giving me the flexibility and grace to genuinely understand others.
This journey eventually led me to educate myself on Islam as well, which I found shares far more common ground with both Christianity and Judaism than I realized when I first began this project. Whether you are memorizing weekly verses, deepening a lifelong faith, or simply exploring these texts for the first time, this site is built for you.
The Inspiration: Access and Transparency
As a Lutheran, I have always been inspired by Martin Luther, who translated the Bible so that far more people could read it for themselves. In that same spirit of accessibility, I began the development and the content curation for this site. There are many people across the world that have contributed in one way or another to this project, either through donating their time to translate various langauges or providing open source versions of the bible for anyone around the world to read. I do not claim authorship of the sacred texts hosted here; rather, my goal is to provide a reliable digital framework to house them. By leveraging modern web capabilities, I hope to make these timeless words easier to read, interact with, and retain.
About the Curator
I’m Brandon Lippincott, a technology professional with a passion for building fast and user-friendly digital tools. BibleVerse is a platform built with a technology mindset, designed specifically to support exploration and learning for people of all ages.
I have found that through advanced studies of my own faith, as well as the beliefs of others, I have become a better version of myself. Taking the time to understand other people's perspectives has given me a platform to learn and better respect the things that make us unique, as well as the things we share in common. It has also enriched my understanding of people's points of view and given me a more meaningful way to engage.
Early on in this journey, I remember driving by a Baptist church and realizing that we share so much more in common than I initially could have ever imagined. That was just the beginning, there have been so many other moments like that along the way. It truly feels like my eyes have been opened, allowing me to see people, our world, and our shared faiths in a light I had never experienced before.

A Note to My Kids
Finally, to my children: If there is one thing I hope you take away from watching me build this, it is that God teaches us to love everyone. Always hold onto your faith and trust in God's plan for you. As you grow, remember that there is something valuable to learn from every single person you meet, no matter their age, where they come from, what they believe, or what walk of life they are on. Keep your hearts and your minds open. Love always. Dad.
