Verse cards

Eight wallet-sized cards to a sheet, cut along the dashes: the reference, the verse, the first letter of every word as a quiz for the way to school, and a QR code to the verse's five-step path, or four larger cards to a sheet for a memory-verse wall. Turn on the cover to print a first sheet that explains the five steps on one verse from the set.

Psalm 56:3BSB

When I am afraid, I put my trust in You.

The first letter of every word: W I a a, I p m t i Y.

Take-home slips

A half-page for a child, two to a sheet: the verse in large type, a line for their name, a five-day checklist named for the steps of the path, a box for having said it to someone, and the QR code so the family can do the steps on a phone. The slips for Bible verses for kids to memorize also carry the parent tip written under each verse, wherever the tip is about the verse rather than the list. Turn on the cover for a sheet of two cover slips that walk a family through the five steps on one verse from the set.

Psalm 56:3BSBName:

When I am afraid, I put my trust in You.

The classic first verse, and the most useful: it comes back at thunderstorms, first days, and doctor visits. Worth learning before it is needed.

Copywork sheets

One page per verse for handwriting practice: the verse printed on ruled lines to copy, blank lines to copy it on, and lines to write it from memory the next day, with the QR code to its five steps. Standard lines by default; the Primary option gives the tall lines with a dashed midline that early writers use and prints the verse in light grey to trace. Writing a verse out by hand is a way of learning it, not only a handwriting exercise: the how-to page says why.

A verse a week

A year of memory verses on two sheets: Fifty-two verses, one a week, from the collections and ordered short to long, so the year opens with "Jesus wept." and works up to Philippians 4:6-7. Each week has a box for every step of the path, one for having said it to someone, and the QR code to the verse's five steps. The school-year plan is the same over thirty-six weeks, for a classroom or a co-op. Ready-made PDFs: the year plan Letter PDF, the year plan·A4 PDF, the year plan; the school-year plan Letter PDF, the school-year plan·A4 PDF, the school-year plan.

Every collection

Open a collection to read its verses with their notes, or go straight to its cards, slips or copywork. Bible verses to memorize, Short Bible verses to memorize and Bible verses for kids to memorize also come as ready-made PDFs for Letter and A4, linked beside them, so a class list or a church site can link the file itself.

Free to print and copy

Free to print and copy for home, class and church use. Not for sale. Print as many as a class or a congregation needs. The sheets quote the Berean Standard Bible and Santa Biblia Reina Valera 1909, or the edition you choose from the print page's Edition menu; every edition offered there is hosted by the site under terms that allow copying, and any credit an edition asks for is printed on the sheet. Editions quoted under licence do not print.

Questions

What paper size do I need?

Letter or A4, whichever your printer holds. The sheets are laid out to fit inside the margins of both, so nothing needs changing in the print dialog except turning off any "fit to page" scaling, which would shrink the cards. The ready-made PDFs come in both sizes. A black-and-white printer or a church copier is all they were designed for.

Which Bible editions print, and do I need to add a copyright line?

The sheets print in the Berean Standard Bible and Santa Biblia Reina Valera 1909 unless you choose another: every print page's toolbar has an Edition menu with the fifty-four editions the site hosts under terms that allow copying, such as the King James Version, the World English Bible and the NET Bible. Where an edition asks for a credit, the sheet prints it at the foot, and every sheet names its edition, so there is nothing to add. Editions the site quotes under licence, such as the NIV, NLT, NASB and ESV, are not printed.

How does the QR code work?

Every card and slip carries a small QR code and the same address written out beside it. Scanning the code with a phone's camera opens that verse's page on BibleVerse, where the five-step path begins: meet the verse, fill the gaps, half hidden, first letters, all by yourself. It is an ordinary web address; nothing is tracked through the code, and the address can be typed instead.

Is there a sheet that explains the five steps?

Yes. Every cards page and every slips page has a Cover option in its toolbar (or add ?cover=1 to the address). It prints a first sheet with the five steps of the path, each shown on one verse from that set: the whole verse, the verse with gaps, the verse half hidden, its first letters, and the reference alone, with a QR code to that verse's path. For cards it is one full page for the set; for slips it is two cover slips to a sheet, so each child can take one home.

Do I need an account?

No. Every sheet prints straight from its page, or saves as a PDF from the same button, with no sign-in. A free account only matters if you want the verses you learn kept in a Verse Book across your devices.

What are the copywork sheets, and which lines should I choose?

One page per verse: the verse printed on handwriting lines to copy, blank lines to copy it on, and lines to write it from memory the next day, with the QR code to its five steps. Standard lines suit a child who writes comfortably; the Primary option gives tall lines with a dashed midline and prints the verse in light grey to trace first, for a child still learning to form letters. Handwriting a verse is itself a way of learning it; the how-to page has the studies.

How does the year plan work?

A verse a week: fifty-two verses from the collections, ordered short to long, on a two-page checklist with a box for each of the five steps and one for having said it to someone, and a QR code for each week's verse. The school-year plan is the same idea over thirty-six weeks, for a classroom or a co-op. Both come as ready-made PDFs.

Can I print one verse, or my own list?

Yes. A verse's own page (the one its QR code opens) has links that print it on a full sheet of wallet cards, take-home slips or bulletin cards (four to a page with a large code, for a church's verse of the week), or as a copywork sheet; and the Verse Book page prints the verses you are learning as cards. Every sheet takes the same options and the same Edition menu.

Can you add a collection, or a verse that is not here?

The printables follow the collections on Bible verses by topic, so a new collection there gets its cards and slips. To suggest a collection or a verse, use the contact page and say who it is for.
