Malachi
Malachi has 4 chapters. Read Malachi in the New Living Translation, chapter by chapter, free and without an account.
Malachi confronts a community that questions God’s love and justice while neglecting faithful worship and covenant responsibilities. Through accusations and replies, it addresses defective offerings, failed priestly instruction, marital betrayal, and withheld tithes. It calls the people to return to the Lord and looks ahead to purification, judgment, and the coming day of the Lord.
In Christian Bibles, Malachi is one of the twelve Minor Prophets of the Old Testament. In the Jewish Tanakh it belongs to the Nevi’im, the Prophets, as part of the Twelve. See it on the shelf.

Malachi 1: corrupt priests dishonor God with defective offerings, while pure worship is promised among all nations.

Malachi 2: corrupt priests, partial judgment, idolatrous unions, and marital betrayal violate covenant faithfulness.

Malachi 3: the coming messenger precedes refining, justice, restored tithes and blessing, and remembrance of the faithful.

Malachi 4: the coming day burns against wickedness but brings healing, joy, and Elijah's call to reconcile families.
