Bildad speaking beneath a vast night sky and dimmed moon

Job 25

Literal Standard Version
Chapter overview
Bildad gives a short final speech on God's dominion and the numberless armies of heaven, before whom peace is established in the heights. If even the moon and the stars are not pure in God's sight, he asks, how can a human being, a worm born of woman, be righteous?

About Job: book summary and outline →

1And Bildad the Shuhite answers and says:
2“The rule and fear [are] with Him, || Making peace in His high places.
3Is there [any] number to His troops? And on whom does His light not arise?
4And what? Is man righteous with God? And what? Is he pure—born of a woman?
5Behold—to the moon, and it does not shine, || And stars have not been pure in His eyes.
6How much less man—a grub, || And the son of man—a worm!”
