Bildad speaking beneath a vast night sky and dimmed moon

Job 25

Free Bible Version
Chapter overview
Bildad gives a short final speech on God's dominion and the numberless armies of heaven, before whom peace is established in the heights. If even the moon and the stars are not pure in God's sight, he asks, how can a human being, a worm born of woman, be righteous?

About Job: book summary and outline →

1Then Bildad the Shuhite spoke up and said,
2“Dominion and awe belong to God. He brings peace to his heavens.
3Who can count his armies? Is there anywhere his light doesn't shine?
4How can a human being be right before God? Can anyone born of woman be pure?
5If in God's eyes even the moon does not shine brightly, and the stars are not pure,
6how much less a human being—who by comparison is like a maggot or a worm!”
